Project Detail
SITE: Military base
COMMISSIONING: 2019
Project Scope
Water intended for human consumption may contain undesirable chemical elements, such as excess chlorine, solvents, oils, and substances that cause bad odours or tastes.
Activated carbon filters have a chemical-physical adsorbing action on elements to be treated and given their characteristics they are also used in wastewater for the reduction of COD, colour, etc.
However, when the volumes to be treated are high, and the compounds to be removed are volatile, the stripping technology is the most efficient and safe for the potabilisation of groundwater.
The plant
The plant in question was designed and built by Geostream to achieve the following performance levels:
• Flow rate of contaminated water to be treated – 60m3/h;
• Maximum daily flow rate – 1.440m3/day;
• Guaranteed plant operation – 24/24h;
• Vinyl Chloride concentration in input – 5.3ug/l.
The plant was tested and accepted by the end customer, following the American and military standards of the facility.
The order was closed in less than 3 months, thanks to the stock availability of several sensitive elements of the system.
