Project Detail
SITE: Fuel depot – storage capacity 55.000 m3
COMMISSIONING: 2019
Project Scope
Geostream Africa supplied and installed a groundwater treatment system to a major downstream oil&gas company at their fuel depot in West Africa.
The shallow coastal aquifer presented a diffused groundwater contamination due to the presence of free-phase product (LNAPL) on the water table. The company reached out to Geostream services for the installation of an automated plant for the recovery and treatment of LNAPL and contaminated water.
The system comprised seven total fluid pneumatic pumps, an oil water separator, activated carbon filters, transfer pumps for the treated water tank and product storage tank, and a control panel with a PLC to remotely monitor process data and send alarms as necessary. The commissioning and start-up of the system, including all piping connections, was completed in four days as scheduled.
